Commercial Insurance

Start with the risk, not the policy.

Marston Row Group helps businesses evaluate insurance when a customer may not pay, a bond is required to bid or perform work, or another specific business risk may call for coverage.

Current focus: trade credit insurance and surety and bonding. Other commercial insurance needs are evaluated case by case.

01 / Trade credit Customer payment risk

If a customer does not pay, the problem can spread beyond the invoice.

Trade credit insurance can protect eligible business-to-business receivables against certain customer non-payment risks.

For some businesses, the same customer concentration can also matter to a lender, borrowing base, or growth plan.

01Exposure
How much revenue or receivables depend on a small number of customers?
02Loss
What happens to cash flow if a material customer pays late or does not pay?
03Financing
Does concentration affect lender appetite, collateral treatment, or borrowing availability?
02 / Surety & bonding Capacity to bid and perform

A bond can be a requirement to bid, win, or perform work.

Surety underwriting can depend on financial strength, backlog, working capital, project mix, ownership, and the obligation being bonded.

Marston helps define the need and route the facts to the appropriate underwriting path.

Requirement

What bond is required, by whom, and on what timeline?

Capacity

What financial and operating facts will matter to the surety decision?

Capital

Could bonding needs interact with liquidity, lender terms, or working capital?

03 / Other insurance needs Case by case

Not every business risk needs an insurance product.

If the need falls outside trade credit insurance or surety, Marston first determines whether insurance is actually the right path and which appropriately authorized party should handle it.

The goal is not to force-fit a policy. It is to get the business to the right next step.

04 / How we work Define the exposure first

The product comes after the problem is clear.

Start with what could go wrong, what it would cost, and what decision has to be made.

  1. 01

    Define the need

Business, exposure, obligation, timing, and the decision the coverage must support.

  2. 02

    Get the facts

Current coverage, financials, contracts, lender requirements, customer concentrations, or bond specifications as relevant.

  3. 03

    Choose the route

Determine whether the need fits an available insurance or surety path rather than assuming a product in advance.

  4. 04

    Keep authority clear

Placement, underwriting, and other regulated decisions remain with the appropriately licensed or authorized parties.

05 / Boundaries Roles stay explicit

Insurance availability is a real underwriting decision.

Insurance work is subject to applicable licensing, appointment, carrier, and underwriting requirements. Where Marston does not hold the required authority, work is coordinated through appropriately licensed or authorized parties.

Coverage, pricing, limits, capacity, and carrier approval are not guaranteed.
